In an effort to inform our Village Farms residents of historical records with regards to the Monon / Midland Trail and Trailhead Development, the following has been provided by Westfield Officials:
The Master Plan presentation that was the subject of the 2004 Public Hearings on the Monon - Midland Trail is provided for posting on the web site. To Download the 6Meg-PDF... CLICK HERE
According to Village Farms neighborhood meeting records, the following motion was made by David Gill and was noted in minutes from the June 15, 2004, Village Farms Board of Directors meeting:
"Met with Consultants of Township Parks Dept. and Town on the progress of the Monon and Midland Trace Trail system within the Township. Final Master Plan and route of trails will be presented to both governing bodies in Sept. I proposed a Resolution of support for the trails from Village Farms Board to the governing bodies. Bill Spaulding made a motion to adopt this resolution, Phil Abookire seconded, all approved."
Board Members Present: Doug Wagner, Bill Spaulding, Phil Abookire, Bob Goodrich, Steele Koester, David Gill, Tim Morgan, Tony Grubb, Tom Whisler (Absent Douglas Cripe, Ted Zaleski, Ken Lipetz)
Please note that according to comments recorded at the June 10, 2004 Public Hearing, a parking lot was specifically addressed as well:
David Gill (Village Farms Board) - Village Farms has approximately 2,700 residents and only a small portion of it touches them, Monon Trail at E. Greyhound Pass. Our board strongly suggests that a trailhead with parking be established at or near where the Monon crosses Greyhound Pass.
The complete record of all 2004 Public Hearing comments is provided for resident information. CLICK HERE
When available, design documents for the Greyhound Pass trailhead will be made available for resident review and comment.
