Greetings, we are your neighbors in The Village Farms. Our little girl, Emily Yott, passed away on May 1st of this year from AML, a type of leukemia. We have started The Emily Yott Foundation, http://www.theemilyyottfoundation.org. The Emily Yott Foundation is held with the Legacy Fund, an affiliate of Central Indiana Community Foundation (http://www.cicf.org)
Proceeds from Emily's fund will go to support Riley Hospital for Children and college scholarships to Hamilton County and Boone County students. Emily was diagnosed with leukemia shortly after her first birthday. After 14 months of intense treatment that included a stem cell transplant at Riley Hospital for Children, our beautiful little angel lost her battle with this horrible disease.
Emily was a very special little girl who won the hearts of all who met her. She inspired adults and taught us how to live life to the fullest as only a child can; even in the face of disease. She always had a smile on her face and a twinkle in her eye. We love her and miss her every day.Emily’s legacy will be to give to others with our primary focus on donations to Riley Hospital for Children and to be aware of and meet the needs of people throughout our community.
Our first fundraiser is "Celebrate Emily!" a dance and silent auction. We are in the process of acquiring items for the auction. So far we have some great Colts memorabilia, jewelry, sculptures, art, tickets to major sporting events and gift baskets from local merchants. The dance will be held on Saturday October 6th at 6pm at the American Legion in Zionsville. Tickets are $25/couple and $15 per single. You can contact Stephanie Yott @ 281-0970 or e-mail for tickets and more information. Emily’s illness ignited a spark of giving that overwhelmed and humbled our family. That spark is now a flame that will burn in our hearts forever.
We intend to "Pay it Forward"! Thank you,Jim and Stephanie Yott
